Code of Ethics for Certified Coaches

Upon certification, AccrediPro Academy graduates agree to uphold professional ethical standards in their coaching practice. While not legally binding, this voluntary code reflects best practices in health and wellness coaching.

Core Ethical Principles for Certified Coaches:

1. Professional Competence

  • Practice only within the scope of your training and competence
  • Represent your credentials honestly and accurately
  • Engage in ongoing learning to maintain and enhance your skills
  • Recognize and acknowledge the limitations of your training

2. Client Welfare

  • Prioritize client wellbeing and safety above business interests
  • Provide coaching services that are in the client’s best interest
  • Refer clients to appropriate healthcare professionals when needed
  • Never diagnose medical conditions or prescribe treatment
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to signs of medical or mental health crisis

3. Professional Boundaries

  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients
  • Avoid dual relationships that could impair professional judgment
  • Never engage in romantic or sexual relationships with active clients
  • Be mindful of power dynamics in the coach-client relationship

4. Confidentiality & Privacy

  • Protect client confidentiality except where legally required to disclose
  • Obtain informed consent before sharing client information
  • Use secure systems to store and transmit client data
  • Discuss confidentiality limits with clients at the start of the relationship

5. Informed Consent

  • Clearly explain the nature, risks, and benefits of coaching services
  • Provide transparent information about fees, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure clients understand coaching is not therapy or medical treatment
  • Respect clients’ right to make informed decisions about their care

6. Professional Integrity

  • Conduct business with honesty, transparency, and fairness
  • Avoid conflicts of interest or disclose them appropriately
  • Honor commitments and agreements with clients
  • Never exploit clients for personal, financial, or emotional gain
  • Represent research and evidence-based practices accurately

7. Cultural Competency

Violations of Student/Graduate Conduct

Students or graduates who violate our community guidelines may face:

  • Warning and educational intervention
  • Temporary or permanent suspension from community access
  • Revocation of certification in cases of serious misconduct
  • Reporting to authorities where legally required
